Coatings Refine Paper
When coating paper, a layer of pigments, bonding agents, additives and water is applied. The application of the coating is made on coating aggregates or a separate coating machine. The coating process completely closes the pores of the paper and smoothes the surface. A complete coating plant consists of the storage, preparation and dosing, the operating stations on the machine as well as the microfiltration plant for coating recovery.
Dry Run Protection in the Supply Lines with the VEGASWING 61
The coating additives are supplied most of the time with a "slurry", containing a solid content of 64% to 66%. In the discharge stations, the slurry from the tanks is transported via special pumps to the coating plant for further processing. Dry running will cause damage and failure of the pumps. Therefore the flow must be monitored carefully because of the adhesive nature of the materials and the small tube diameter. The optimum solution as a dry run protection of these pumps is the VEGASWING 61 vibrating level switch. With a tuning fork of only 40 mm length and the G ¾ A connection, this level switch functions reliably even in very adhesive coatings.
