Training - Ohmart/VEGA offers a variety of training services to meet customer needs. Training schools and seminars are conducted at the Ohmart/VEGA factory in Cincinnati, Ohio or at customer sites covering nuclear measurement technologies and radiation safety. For more information and for a listing of Ohmart/VEGA training offerings, please visit the Training page, accessible through Services at the top of the page.
Radiation Program Auditing - Nuclear Services personnel can audit a customer's Radiation Safety Program to ensure that it is in compliance with the customer's licensing.
Source Holder & Shutter Repair - In the event that a source holder's shutter becomes stuck or otherwise inoperable, Nuclear Services can repair the shutters in the field. Should the repair need specialized service, the source holder will be professionally prepared for shipment back to Ohmart/VEGA's facility for repair, or disposal and replacement, if necessary.
Leak Testing & Shutter Checks - Periodic leak tests are performed on source holders as a requirement of the customer's licensing, and is done to ensure that no radioactive material has escaped and caused contamination. The test can be done and simply returned to Ohmart/VEGA, or Nuclear Services can go to the site and gather the tests for analysis along with documenting the operability of the shutter. Ohmart/VEGA provides licensed technical analysis on all leak tests.
Disposal of Sources - When a source is no longer needed in the field, they can be returned to Ohmart/VEGA for proper disposal. Because of safety regulations concerning nuclear materials, it is important to have sources disposed of properly. Even if the source holder originated from a different manufacturer, Ohmart/VEGA's Nuclear Services can assist the customer with proper disposal. Nuclear Services can go to the customer's site and prepare the equipment for shipment with proper packaging and labeling. Ohmart/VEGA also takes receipt and conducts disposal of sources prepared for shipment by another entity.
