Specialized Applications
Ohmart/VEGA radar is virtually unaffected by high process temperature and volatile process parameters, making it a great level measurement solution for the steel industry. Attributed to Ohmart/VEGA's ability to customize fabrication of radar instruments to fit the customers' specifications, many aspects of steel processing have been made more effective by accurate level measurement. Specialized radar instruments with curved waveguides have also been developed, and are key when measuring hot, molten metals. Specific applications within the steel industry include measurement of the tundish, alloy storage bins, blast furnaces, burden, and basic oxygen furnace levels.
